Your engine needs a perfect air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber for optimal performance. If your check engine light is illuminated, you will want to check the diagnostic trouble codes first with an OBD2 scanner. However, the engine control module does not always recognize a faulty MAF sensor, so it may still be defective, even if there is no engine light on your dashboard. A check engine light is one of the most common bad mass air flow sensor symptoms. Therefore, if your MAF sensor is faulty and sends wrong information to the engine control unit, the check engine light will illuminate your dashboard. If a sensor sends an incorrect signal, the ECM or PCM will turn on the check engine indicator light. The car was completely burned beyond recognition. The engine control module monitors all sensors in the car engine to ensure that everything is OK. The fire dept and state police arrived and secured the area, which included blocking traffic completely on the highway for fear of an explosion, and put out the fire. No one was hurt, thankfully, but it was only a matter of minutes before the car went from operating normally to being completely engulfed in flames, so he could very well have been hurt or worse. The car had recently been inspected and was working perfectly fine except for a small coolant leak up until today, so we have no idea what caused such a sudden combustion. The car itself burst into flames at that point and my fiance had to back away from it immediately for fear that it would explode. When he exited the vehicle he noticed some black smoke coming out from under the hood, and the hood itself starting to bubble from the heat. After keeping an eye on the gauge for a few minutes, he noticed it suddenly drop to 0 and so he pulled over, figuring a hose had broken or something to that extent. He noticed the coolant light come on, and so looked at the temp gauge and saw that it had not risen any higher than normal. My 2000 vw Jetta was being driven today by my fiance on 295 south in rhode island. .Īll problems of the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta Your company posted the recalls for all of the same problems that I'm having with this vehicle! recall no. & the horn does not work when it's parked. MK5 JETTA COOLANT ENGINE LIGHT GOES OFF FULL
It has faulty air bags that can just go off while I'm driving! safety bags are a must have & it is illegal to sell/produce any non safe vehicle! I seen that Volkswagen company made a hand full of recalls on this vehicle over the last 8 years. My concern is that this is something that a repair shop can not fix/ its going to be so expensive that I can't afford to fix it. (recall faulty air bags my car is miles away at the repair shop, so I can't take a picture of the air bag light but it turned on about a week ago and hasn't shut off. Which is when I found out that the engine seized. I had to get my vehicle towed to a repair shop. I couldn't even get the engine to turn over. I had just turned on the street of her work going 10 miles an hour & it felt like my car just died. I was driving my wife to work with our 5 year old son. On 7/13/19 the engine seized (locked) up while I was driving it. I was only getting 15 miles to the gallon because it was leaking into my engine. There was nothing visible other than the steam/gas vapor. 2 months ago I noticed a gas smell when I took my oil cap off I noticed there was a lot of steam/smoke & I could tell that's where the smell was coming from. Recall -engine and engine cooling I have a 07 Jetta 2.
